Overview

ShortGenie Ltd. is an independent software studio based in Edmonton, Canada. We build creative tools and games for end users. We are the data controller for any personal information we hold about you.

Our products differ in what data they touch. Across all of them, our baseline principle is: don't collect anything we don't need, and be explicit when we do.

ShortGenie general (this website & email)

When you visit shortgenie.ai (including the /games and /software sections), our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard server logs — your IP address, browser user-agent, referring URL, and the page you requested. These logs exist for security and abuse-prevention purposes and are retained per Vercel's data-retention policy.

We use Vercel Web Analytics on shortgenie.ai to count page views and aggregate visitor numbers. The script does not set any cookies, does not use browser fingerprinting, and does not track you across other websites. Vercel hashes a daily-rotating combination of your IP and user-agent into a non-reversible visitor identifier; the underlying IP is not stored in the analytics dataset. Data is retained for up to 12 months and is governed by Vercel's privacy policy.

We do not use advertising trackers, social tracking pixels, or any other third-party analytics on these websites. We do not set any of our own cookies.

If you contact us at contact@shortgenie.ai, we keep your email and message so we can respond. We don't add it to a marketing list — we don't have one.

AUDIOVIZOR

AUDIOVIZOR has its own dedicated privacy policy. The canonical text — covering audio handling in the web and desktop apps, local preferences storage, and any hosting logs — lives at audiovizor.com/privacy. Refer to that document for the authoritative terms.

Pixel Homestead (Android)

Data we store on your device

Game progress — your level wins, room upgrades, hearts, coins, stars, and tutorial state — is saved locally inside the app's private storage on your device. We do not transmit this data to our own servers. If you uninstall the app, this data is removed; we have no way to restore it.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The game shows optional rewarded video ads (e.g. to refill hearts). Ads are served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect an Android Advertising ID (AAID), coarse IP-derived location, and device-type information to serve and measure ads. AdMob is the data controller for that data; their handling is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

In regions where consent is required (EEA, UK, Switzerland, Brazil), the game shows a Google-provided consent dialog (UMP) on first launch before any ad request. You can revoke or change your consent at any time from the game's Settings menu.

You can reset your Android Advertising ID, or disable personalized advertising entirely, from your device's Settings → Google → Ads.

In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)

The game offers optional coin packs purchasable via Google Play Billing. Google processes the purchase, handles the payment instrument, and provides us only with a per-purchase token confirming success — we do not see or store your payment details or full Google account.

Purchase records, refunds, and subscription state (none currently) are governed by your agreement with Google Play.

Permissions the game requests

  • Internet — required for ad and purchase requests.
  • Advertising ID (AD_ID) — required by AdMob; described above.
  • Billing — required for the in-app shop.

The game does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location services, photos, files, or any other personal data on the device.

Crash reports & analytics

Pixel Homestead does not currently include a crash-reporting or analytics SDK. If we add one in the future (for example Firebase Crashlytics or Firebase Analytics, both Google products), we will update this policy and bump the “last updated” date above before the new version ships.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR (EU/UK), the CCPA (California), the LGPD (Brazil), Canadian PIPEDA, or similar regimes — including the right to access the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to object to processing, or to receive it in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@shortgenie.ai with the subject line “Privacy request” and the product you're asking about. We respond within 30 days.

Note that for data Google AdMob and Google Play Billing collect directly (described in the Pixel Homestead section), Google is the controller — those requests should be directed to Google through your Google account's privacy controls.

Children's privacy

Our products are not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Pixel Homestead's Play Store age rating reflects this. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our products evolve. Material changes (new categories of data collection, new third-party SDKs, etc.) will bump the “last updated” date above and, where applicable, surface a notice in the affected app on next launch.
